A quick conversation is all it takes to get us started on your draft program, and we will re-draft it as many times as it takes until you see a program that will achieve your aims. There is no fee or commitment at this stage as we take pride in developing the perfect unique program.

Student Representative Councils (SRCs)
To be the voice of the students takes a lot of work and skill. We offer training that covers a range of skills to help the SRC become a true power in the school.
Other names for a Student Representative Council (SRC) are a Student Leadership Council (SLC), Student Union, Student Forum, Student Parliament – we’ve worked with all structures.
Leadership Days
A special day for either the leaders of the school OR the students you expect to become leaders. Do you have students that would benefit from a day to focus their goals? We can build a day that will work.
School Captains / Prefects
The high profile leadership roles are often left with little practical to do. A specific training day for these leaders will grow their vision.
Form Captains
Class captains often seem like a great idea to give more students an opportunity at leadership. Without a real purpose the role is meaningless. What if your training day for Class Captains also included a project they commit to for the benefit of their other students as well as the skills to run it? We have a range of ideas to get started.
Public Speaking
‘Glossophobia’ is the fear of public speaking. In one day of practical and varied activities students get a chance to tackle this fear in small steps, ending with confidently prepared and skillfully delivered speeches at the end of the day.
Student Run Conferences
This program is only available to a limited number of schools. Your secondary students will be trained to run a leadership conference for the neighbouring primary schools (grade five and/or six students). It is a showcase of your school, training opportunity for the primary school students and a genuine leadership opportunity for the secondary students.
Teacher Professional Development Seminars
Second Strike has been running these seminars for ten years with enormous success, in fact we’ve run over 110 seminars in that time. Teachers have often been feeling alone and unsure about their role. Our seminars give you the tools, the ideas and the support you need to grow a truly successful student council. Job Application and Interview Skills
It’s the same skills you’ve been talking to your students about for a while – we simply offer an interactive training session that allows students the chance to practice the skills needed to get the interview and then land the job.
